Q: What services are available from CourtsOnLine(COL):

A: CourtsOnLine provides online, real-time access to the court case records in Washington, Oregon and Idaho states. Cases available include State, County and Municipal courts along with U.S. Bankruptcy cases from these states.

Q: What types of information can I access using COL:

A: CourtsOnLine allows access to a specific case or judgment by its number in any court, or searching in any court or courts for all occurrences of a person or business name. Retrieved case details can be displayed, printed, saved to a file or e-mailed to a colleague.

Q: Is statewide index searching available for Washington:

A: Yes, index searches are available in COL Application Version 4.xx (or newer). Index records are retrieved in blocks of up to 500 records per search. Numerous advanced search types are available including, search by Participants, by County, and many more. Index searching is a quick way to locate court activity for a person or business when you don’t know their location or past history is old/unknown. You can search all 39 Counties in Washington in about 10 seconds. Approximately, 3000 records can be returned in 60 seconds.

Q: What Port Number and Transmission Protocol must be enabled in our firewall to support the CourtsOnLine Client Application?

A: The Client Application requires Port Number 85. The transmission protocol is TCP/IP (no UDP), and both in and out traffic must be enabled.

Q: What IP Addresses must be enabled in our Firewall to support the COL Client Application?

A: The Client Application selects from a pool of IP addresses as needed to make a reliable and fast connection. Currently, the IP 216.168.61.131 and /or one from this range: 64.38.134.178 to .193 may be used. Note: Client version 4.XX (or newer) will automatically select the best IP to use for the current session and no additional settings are necessary by the user or IT personnel.

Q: How much does the CourtsOnLine Client Application cost?

A: The Client Application is provided at no cost to all clients who have established an account with us. We charge only for access and retrieval transactions and make the Client available via Internet Download, Email, U.S. Mail, or CD-ROM.

Q: What hours and days are the CourtsOnLine Services available?

A: The CourtsOnLine Service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The only time service may be unavailable is during periodic maintenance sessions by the courts. Typically, maintenance is done between 12 AM and 5AM on Saturdays or Sundays.

Q: How do I e-mail CourtsOnLine search results:

A: To e-mail a report, simply activate a search results form by clicking anywhere in the form. Next, select File – Save As from the Main Menu and save the report to a text file. The text file can be e-mailed to your recipient.

Q: Can COL be used on an Apple computer?

A: Yes, if Windows is installed on the Apple.
